Junction of Bradley Lane and Farnhill Main Street – 1

Before the turnpike road was built, in 1786, this was where the route of the main Keighley to Skipton road – which came up Farnhill Main Street – turned towards Bradley, and then made its way on to Skipton.

The junction was known as Twig Nook. It took the name from the seat positioned under a large sycamore that was planted in 1817. Both the tree and seat are now long since gone – the seat was demolished by a milk tanker making too tight a turn.
